"Wild" Texas Natives

Brazos Bend State Park

Located just west of Houston just off Hwy. 59 and Crab River Road exit, Brazos Bend is an oasis for Texas wildlife.

If you decide to get out of the car and walk the trails, be sure and take your cell phone and a walking stick with you. Wildlife is accustomed to humans and is often up close and personal. Sometimes, a little to up close and personal for comfort and safety. (I was not paying proper attention to the trail as I was occupied behind the cmera looking for birds. I missed stepping on a water moccasin by inches.) If you are aware of your surrounding and respectful that you are just a visitor in nature's home, it can be a very enjoyable and learning experience.
